Join ULI Atlanta for our first of a series of monthly programs focused on real estate and land use issues impacting our region. For our September program, we will focus on what is driving responsible development along the Southside BeltLine neighborhoods.

Over the past three years, the neighborhoods bounded by I-20 and the southside Atlanta BeltLine trail have become ground zero for market-changing development. Chosewood Park has become the setting for dense BeltLine driven multi-family development with over 2,600 class A units in planning or completion. The West End has become the destination for breweries, distilleries, experiential retail, and creative flex uses with Lee + White and the MET. The Summerhill neighborhood is the redevelopment of the area surrounding the former Turner Field. In 2017, Carter and Georgia State University purchased Turner Field and the surrounding property with the vision to thoughtfully redevelop the area into a hub for commerce, education, innovation, and community. The opportunity for legacy residents to engage in community ownership of planned commercial real estate development is taking place in Capitol View.

Come hear from local leaders as they discuss the accelerated growth and how to develop responsibly in the Southside BeltLine neighborhoods.

    Speakers include

Marilynn Davis - Chief Real Estate Officer, Clark Atlanta University

David Nelson - Vice President, Carter

Brian Oates - Executive Managing Director of Development, RangeWater

Shar’ron Russell - Manager of Community Development, Georgia Power

Aisha J. Thomas - Commercial Real Estate Attorney/Principal Broker, The Thomas Agency, LLC

** With the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in our community, ULI Atlanta’s priority is to keep our members, staff, and families safe. After much deliberation, we will continue to offer periodic online programing and virtual options so that all can participate. For the interim, all in-person events will require attendees to wear masks, provide proof of vaccine, and complete a health assessment within 12-hours of the event. These in-person meeting requirements apply to all programs, events, committee and council meetings. To maintain the confidentiality of these records, ULI Atlanta will provide a link to a third-party tracking site the week of the event.**
