Women’s Leadership Initiative
Mission
The mission of the WLI is expressed in its four primary objectives:
- Promote the advancement of women, throughout their careers, as leaders in the real estate industry.
- Increase the number of women who serve in leadership positions in the real estate industry and in ULI.
- Increase the visibility of women leaders in the real estate industry and in ULI.
- Increase the number of women who are active ULI Full members, and support the development of young women members as leaders in ULI and in their professions.
Our goal is to create a program that will inspire you with speakers who have figured out how to break into the elite C-Suite, become their own boss and lead….not all of whom are necessarily in Real Estate, but those who can share advice and lessons in how to succeed. WLI events will be held per the established WLI calendar. WLI’s Mission will serve as the lynchpin underlying all events. The events will be generally one of these categories:
WLI Breakfast Series – WLI hosts a quarterly member-only breakfast series. This series features women of influence within the real estate and land use industry, technology, marketing, and business with a focus on leadership, professional development & networking.
Coffee (or Cocktail) Connect – CCC is an easy, no-frills way to meet other women one-on-one within ULI with the goal of building a women’s network one ULI member at a time. Members sign up and are randomly paired with a fellow ULI Atlanta member participant each quarter. After that, it becomes the member’s mission to connect and meet up on their own time and budget for breakfast, coffee, lunch, or cocktails…hence making a new connection.
BUILD-UP Breakfast Club – BUILD UP Breakfast Clubs, an initiative begun by ULI Michigan that empowers women in real estate to build better communities together. BUILD UP Breakfast Clubs are hosted in multiple in-person locations through U.S. cities in participating District Councils. In Georgia, ULI Atlanta and ULI Savannah will host providing opportunities for small groups of women to build lasting relationships, strengthen regional networks, and engage meaningfully with others in their field. Each group meets four times per year, led by a local WLI champion in that respective market. Reach out to [email protected] for more information.
WLI Socials and Book Club – An opportunity for WLI members to connect in an informal setting. WLI Socials and Book Club is led by a designated member champion.
ChangeMakers: Influential Women in Real Estate and Land Use – Annually, WLI will be committed to highlighting, promoting, and celebrating women in the industry with new inductees into the “ChangeMakers” with a goal of increasing the presence of women in the industry at conferences, in board rooms, and everything in between.
