ATLANTA (August 2, 2023) – ULI Atlanta today announces David Allman will be honored with the Industry Impact Award at the 27th Annual Awards for Excellence dinner on Sept. 14 at the Georgia Aquarium.

“I am so humbled and honored to receive this award from such a revered organization as ULI Atlanta,” said Allman. “I appreciate the recognition, and I share it with my team at Regent Partners and all those with whom I have served at ULI Atlanta and nationally.”

The Industry Impact Award, formerly known as the Frank Carter Award, is given to an individual in the field of real estate development or related area such as finance, planning, or design who has made an outstanding contribution in their lifetime to the metropolitan Atlanta region. The very first individual awarded this distinction was Tom Cousins in 1995. Over the years has been awarded to AJ Land, John Portman, Lawrence and Mary Gellerstedt, Chip Davidson, and Noel Khalil (posthumously) in 2022.

“With David’s many contributions to ULI over his lifetime, it is fitting that he will receive the first of this reimagined Industry Impact Award – which pays homage to the spirit of the Frank Carter Award. Similar to the many past recipients of the Award, David has made a catalytic impact on the Atlanta region from both a professional and civic vantage. He has shaped the Atlanta region’s built environment through projects like the iconic Sovereign building and has demonstrated a passion for civic leadership on important issues like housing affordability through the launch of the Atlanta Affordable Housing Fund” said Daphne Bond-Godfrey, executive director of ULI Atlanta.

Allman is the owner and chairman of Regent Partners, a real estate investment and development company based in Atlanta. Regent Partners has developed or acquired more than $3 billion in real estate assets. He is active in many real estate, civic and ministry initiatives, including serving as a Trustee for the J. Bulow Campbell Foundation, a Trustee for The Lovett School and a Global Governing Trustee for the Urban Land Institute nationally. He serves on the boards of the Georgia Public Policy Foundation, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, HouseATL, and the Atlanta Affordable Housing Fund initiative. He is the Founding Chairman of Opportunity International Nicaragua, and he has previously served as Founding Chairman of the Buckhead Community Improvement District, Founding Chairman of the Eleazar Wheelock Society at Dartmouth College, and Chairman of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. He has also sat on the Board of Councilors at the Carter Center. He is a past Chair of ULI Atlanta’s Advisory Board and continues to serve on its Governance Committee and the  Livable Communities Council.

The Awards for Excellence will celebrate 27 years of ULI Atlanta’s impact in part by recognizing the most outstanding development projects across the region and people within the Atlanta District Council. The project finalists include:
