WLI: Investing in Women
Please join ULI Atlanta’s Women Leadership Initiative (WLI) as we kick-off our first quarter program for the 2017- 2018 year. During this time, we will focus our programming on women and the politics of business by featuring outstanding women in the ULI Atlanta community who work in real estate, land use, economic development, financial, and the non-profit sector who are spearheading initiatives that are driving community change.
In this first event, we’ll hear stories from Eloisa Klementich, President and CEO of Invest Atlanta, the official economic development authority for the City of Atlanta and Theia Washington Smith, Director of the Women’s Entrepreneurial Initiative (WEI), Atlanta.
At Invest Atlanta, Eloisa oversees programs and initiatives focused on developing and fostering public-private partnerships, job creation, and neighborhood revitalization programs that support real estate development, streetscape improvements, and new economic activity in distressed neighborhoods.
At the WEI, Theia leads efforts to design and equip local women businesses with the tools they need to succeed. WEI acts as a business incubator for women entrepreneurs by helping them navigate the complexities of accessing capital, funding opportunities, and building social capital to network and grow.
Come hear from Eloisa and Theia, two phenomenally successful women in their own right as they share their personal stories, thoughts on women in the workplace, and opportunities to invest in women.
